Done the right way, protective styling can help mask mismatched textures and even encourage your hair to grow. The number one thing to remember before tucking away all your curls is to make sure they are well-moisturized. Many people think that just because your hair is put away, dryness and breakage won’t be an issue.
My favorite protective style is the curly bun. It’s quick , and it can be worn casually or in formal settings. As far as the best products to use for this style: water! I never add too much product because I feel it only causes more buildup, and honestly, it doesn’t really make a visible difference. Water helps with hydration and any minor detangling I might have to do. It also helps with refreshing the style later if needed.
