UPDATED 8.44PM 115 new Covid-19 cases, new cluster in Klang
| Malaysia has reported 115 new cases of Covid-19 in the 24 hours up to noon today, bringing the grand total to 11,034 cases while the number of cases that are still active reached 1,011.accounts for 98 of the local cases, while other states reported 11 cases linked to travel history in the Sabah., Selangor. Of the 10 cases reported in the state today, six are from the newly identified Jalan Apas cluster there.
In a statement today, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the index cases are husband and wife who travelled in Tawan and Semporna, Sabah, from Sept 13 to Sept 16, 2020. Both reported symptoms of fever, cough, and cold on Sept 18 and sought medical treatment on the following day, and were then referred to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang on Sept 24.
They tested positive for the disease on Sept 26 and were admitted to the Sungai Buloh Hospital. Contact tracing led health officials to detect the six cases reported today, bringing the total in this cluster to eight cases., 46 out of the 98 local cases are attributed to the Bangau-Bangau cluster inNoor Hisham said 369 people have been tested so far in this cluster, of whom 225 tested positive, 37 tested negative and 107 are still pending results.
This gives the cluster an unusually high positivity rate of 85.88 percent, whereas figures below 10 percent are more typical for active clusters.There are 11,042 people tested in this cluster so far, of whom 873 tested positive, while 1,629 are still pending results. Of the 873 cases in this cluster, 675 are detainees and prisoners.reported two new cases, bringing the total to 49 cases. There are 931 people tested so far, of whom 448 are still pending results..
