In a media release, the ministry said there were 113 new cases of locally transmitted infection. Of the local community cases, 70 are linked to past cases and have already been quarantined while five are linked to previous cases and were detected through surveillance, said MOH. There are 38 new unlinked cases.
Among the new cases, seven are seniors aged above 70 who unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and are at risk of serious illness. There are also eight imported cases, all of whom have been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated since their arrival in Singapore. One case ws detected upon arrival while the other seven developed symptoms during SHN or isolation.
In its most recent nightly update, MOH announced eight new clusters including one at Institution S2 Selarang Park Complex, which is a Singapore Prisons Service site. There are currently six cases linked to the cluster. In total, there are currently 71 active clusters, ranging between three and 1,027 infections, the ministry said.
