He shared, 'Seeing the familiar faces in the neighbourhood and the old customers that have supported us over the past years really warms our hearts.'The decision to reopen at the original location wasn't easy. Benjamin revealed that it took several months of deliberation, considering the financial and logistical challenges associated with restoring the outlet. He explained, 'It took us a few months to decide whether we should reopen the 126 Sims Avenue branch as it would take a lot of money and effort to reopen the outlet.' The 126 Sims Avenue branch, established in 1985, holds a special place in the hearts of many, being 'filled with history and stories.' However, its age necessitated a complete refurbishment.For those who have missed their favourite dim sum delights, there's good news: the menu remains unchanged. Diners can once again indulge in the familiar taste of their beloved dishes. Earlier this year, Louis, the restaurant manager, had shared that the business had initially closed despite receiving several offers from interested buyers, including one for $1.2 million for the recipes and brand name. However, the owner ultimately decided to allow the team to continue operating 126 Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi, driven by their strong commitment to the business. While sales have not yet reached pre-closure levels, Louis had expressed optimism, stating, 'Our business has not gone back to the previous levels, but it's better than expected.' The reopening of the 126 Sims Avenue branch marks a significant step in the restaurant's journey, reaffirming its place in the Singaporean dining scene and bringing joy to countless loyal customers
