An alleged gang leader accused of ordering the teen’s killing had illegally reentered the United States after being previously removed, prosecutors said.
By Lynh Bui Lynh Bui Reporter focusing on public safety and criminal justice Email Bio Follow March 18 at 7:45 PM A 16-year-old who was stabbed more than 100 times before his body was set on fire was being disciplined by fellow MS-13 gang members who then scrubbed the crime scene in an attempt to cover up the killing, prosecutors said in court.
Ordonez-Zometa is a leader of an MS-13 gang that operates out of Fairfax County in Virginia, and he was one of five people arrested in Chicas’s killing, police said. Jose Ordonez-Zometa, 29, is in custody in the killing of Jacson Chicas, 16. During the meeting, at which individuals were being disciplined, Ordonez-Zometa “questioned the Decedent’s loyalty to the gang” and ordered gang members to take him into the basement, according to prosecutors and court charging documents.
Prince George’s County Assistant State’s Attorney Sherrie Waldrup requested that Ordonez-Zometa remain held without bond, citing the “egregious” and “gruesome” allegations against him.
