Two men, aged 58 and 28, were arrested on Dec 11 for their suspected involvement in two separate cases of loanshark harassment.
The first case on Dec 8 involved a residential unit along Chai Chee Road, where the main door was splashed with red paint and a debtor’s note was left behind.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the two men and arrested them. For first-time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with up to five years in jail and up to six strokes of the cane.
