At least two schools in one Chicago suburb have issued a shelter in place order due to reports of gunfire and an at-large suspect in the area of one of them.
The schools directly impacted are Oak View Elementary School and Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook.
According to officials, the alleged gunfire occurred in the vicinty of Brooks Middle School, prompting the shelter in place at both Brooks and Oak View. Officials also say that all Bolingbrook schools have been put under a "secure building and teach" – and that dismissal is being delayed until the all clear is given.out that Bolingbrook PD is investigating a shooting in the area of Boughton and Rt. 53.
