“Investigators believe it is possible the pedestrian was hit by several vehicles” and that the drivers of those vehicles “do not know they were involved,” police spokeswoman Sydney Edwards said.
Also in Aurora, a man died in an auto-pedestrian crash near Bicentennial Park about 1:50 a.m. Thursday, police said.
The crash, about 100 feet east of the intersection of East Alameda Parkway and South Potomac Street, involved the driver of a 2016 Cadillac ATS. The pedestrian, a man, was crossing Alameda mid-block north to south when hit. He was taken to a hospital where he died. He’ll be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office after his family has been notified.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. The incident is the 25th traffic-related fatality this year in Aurora. Editor’s note: This story was updated to include a second fatal crash, near East Alameda Parkway and Potomac Street, in Aurora.
