The dogs were left in the woods for at least a week, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Three people were charged after two dogs — one of which was deceased — were found tied to a tree in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said.

The dog were tied to a tree in a wooded area in the area of Wilburforce Avenue and had been there at least a week, theDerek Hardy, 58, Lassale Hardy, 56, and Shak Balayet, 51, all of Egg Harbor Township, were each charged with two counts of third-degree animal cruelty in addition to multiple charges of disorderly persons animal cruelty.
