The 50-point game from Warriors' Steph Curry was so mesmerizing, you probably didn't notice the new Met Gala-themed sneakers he had on.
It’s not uncommon for athletes with signature sneakers to break out new color designs in the postseason. Judging purely on social media responses, this particular pair of Curry sneakers has been received rather positively. Safe to assume that having a design based off a Versace outfit will do that. But given what he accomplished in those sneakers, the original idea behind the design might be lost in his 50-point performance to seal the first-round series against Sacramento. This happened before with Michael Jordan when he wore a pair of black and red Jordan 14’s when he sank the series-winning basket against the Utah Jazz in the 1998 NBA Finals.
, they were nicknamed the “Last Shot 14’s” — a nod to Jordan scoring his last bucket as a Bulls player in them.
