75 of 127 new local COVID-19 cases in Singapore linked to Jurong Fishery Port cluster

There are 127 new locally transmitted infections within the community, of which 75 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port Cluster while five are linked to the KTV cluster, said MOH in a news release. The latest figures take the case counts for the two clusters up to 740 and 232, respectively.

Sixty-nine of the local cases are linked to past cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while 29 are linked to previous cases and were detected via surveillance. Another 29 cases are unlinked. Among the new cases are six seniors aged above 70, who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and are at risk of serious illness.

There are also three imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon their arrival in Singapore. One was detected upon arrival, while the other two developed the illness during SHN or isolation. In its nightly update on Friday, MOH said three new local cases were added to the "Case 64697" cluster, bringing the total infections linked to it to 59.understands the "Case 64697" cluster is linked to residents at Block 639 Rowell Road of whom two had attended lessons at ComfortDelGro’s Ubi driving school and later tested positive for the virus. Other cases in the cluster include staff members at the school – a canteen worker and a driving instructor.
