An Amazon seller who makes up to $73,000 a month in revenue shares his top 8 must-know tips to land your product on the first page and sell out
videos and eventually signing up for a paid course. Yet, even with all his due diligence, he still launched himself into a few big mistakes that cost him upwards of $15,000.
For example, if you're offering a coffee mug that has an elephant image on it and it's 16 oz, then your keywords should include"elephant, coffee mug, 16 oz" rather than just"coffee mug". If somebody is an elephant connoisseur, it's more likely they'll buy your mug than someone who is just searching for a coffee cup, he noted. The unique descriptors should be included in your title, bullet points, and product description, he added.
If your product is in a very broad category, like mugs, it will land among many different options. It's too much for a customer to comb through and it'll likely get skipped over or clicked on and then moved on from, he noted. a reverse ASIN search. Once you have a solid landing page, you'll need to consider running an advertising campaign on Amazon."The way I go about it is, I'll start with an exact match type, which basically is targeting keywords for their exact phrase. I also use a phrase campaign which keeps the phrase intact, but adds on a couple more words in front or behind that phrase," Pak said.
"There is some kind of keyword-related ranking when you actually take sales from some of your competitors," Pak said."So for example, if they're searching for an elephant coffee mug and they clicked around through different competitors, but then the last one they clicked on was a competitor and then they clicked on your listing under it, you'd actually end up getting some kind of ranking juice from that.
Therefore, he recommends starting conservatively and with an automatic campaign, which allows Amazon to do the work for you and find keywords instead of you pushing certain keywords. Limit your starting ad budget to $15 to $20 a day. It's enough for your campaign to collect market data to determine which keywords are converting best., he noted. This will allow you to allocate your budget where it's needed.
