Fortescue Future Industries’ Boss Andrew Forrest “didn’t back down” from urging the Morrison government to commit to net zero during his National Press Club address, says The West Australian’s Federal Political Reporter Sarah Ison.
The Australian is reporting Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, Labor and Andrew Forrest have backed the Reserve Bank of Australia’s warning climate-conscious global investors will “significantly divest” from Australia if the country does not commit to net zero by 2050.
“It was actually one of the most interesting and direct National Press Club address I’ve heard and asked a question at in months,” she said.
