Iconic “Wheel of Fortune” star Vanna White revealed that she almost left the game show after her long-time cohost Pat Sajak announced that he was retiring earlier this year.
“Of course it’s a thought. It’s like, ‘Well, wait, if you’re leaving, what am I going to do? How can I stay without you?'” White, 66, told. “It was a very hard decision for me to make, because it definitely crossed my mind. It’s like, ‘I just don’t know if I can do this without you,’ but I thought about it and I’m not ready to retire, so I am staying on.
As for Sajak’s final episodes? White teased that the syndicated game show is going to send him out in style. She added: “Forty-one years together, you know each other so well. It definitely is bittersweet, but he’s decided to retire and I have to accept that.”White — who reportedly made $3 million a season — recently asked for a raise from the show’s producers, claiming that she only received bonuses for the last 18 years but was denied several times.“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak.
