.a2im is launching a new program to empower independent artists
Named A2IM Artist, the program will provide artists with “the tools for success” by offering a mix of curated events and online educational content. As part of the program, live events featuring panel discussions, access to experts, networking opportunities and more will be held on Monday evenings in cities across the country. The kickoff event will take place in Columbus, Ohio, followed by Miami and Philadelphia; other U.S. cities with “thriving music scenes” will be added later.
Educational content designed to help artists maximize success in the streaming economy will be provided to A2IM Artist members through the A2IM Artist portal. Headquartered in New York City, A2IM is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening the independent recorded music sector, with a membership that includes a coalition of more than 600 independently owned music labels in the U.S. Recent advocacy efforts included partnering with the Music Artists Coalition and the RIAA to carve out an amendment to California’s AB5 “gig economy” law affecting independent artists, songwriters and producers.
