Just seven days after a pair of Virginia state senators launched their campaigns to fill the seat of Rep. A. Donald McEachin, voters are headed to the polls Tuesday in the Democratic primary.
But because the district is so blue, Tuesday’s Democratic firehouse primary will likely determine the next member of Congress. Two other Democrats, Joseph Preston and Tavorise Marks, are also competing.
“It’s been a steady turnout,” Huffer said. He said he’s known Morrissey since 1994, when his sister was a paralegal in the then-lawyer’s firm. Morrissey was jailed and disbarred over his relationship with a 17-year-old receptionist whom he later married. Outgoing Gov.
