Rebels' worst design is improved.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary One of Star Wars Rebels’ most controversial animated character designs has been improved upon in Ahsoka. Translating animated characters into live-action is never easy; animation allows for more creative free rein, and some design characteristics can be hard to convey in live-action without them feeling out of place.
Up until now, one vital Rebels character had been missing from Ahsoka’s action. Jacen Syndulla, Hera’s son, was finally revealed in Ahsoka episode 3 “Part Three – Time To Fly.” Jacen is Hera’s son with the Jedi Kanan Jarrus, who sadly died before their child was born. Kanan was a human, while Hera is a Twi’lek.
Rebels' Jacen Syndulla Design Was Hugely Controversial Jacen Syndulla’s animated design in Star Wars Rebels was understandably maligned. He looked like neither of his parents – the only nod to his Twi’lek mother was his green hair and the tips of his ears being green, while his facial features did not resemble his father Kanan at all.
How Ahsoka Fixes Jacen Syndulla's Design In live-action, Jacen’s design is much improved. While there are still no prominent Twi’lek features to speak of, he does look much more like his father Kanan. Their skin tone is similar, and instead of having an incredibly round face, which neither of his parents have, his face is more angular and slimmer.
