In airports, it’s never too early for a drink and never too late for a nap. That’s just one of the wonderful things about flying.
I sometimes think of my father as a closet pilot, or what the Australian writer Clive James calls a “nonpracticing pilot”: someone who has spent so much time in the air that he can speak with confidence about the mechanics of flight.
