Alabama woman Marshae Jones was shot in the stomach and lost her unborn baby. Now, she's facing manslaughter charges — after the shooter was not indicted.
An Alabama woman is being charged in her unborn baby’s death — after someone else shot her in the stomach
A woman was shot, her shooter’s charges were dismissed, and now the victim of the shooting, who also lost her child in that shooting, is being told this was her fault, and faces charges for the death of her unborn baby. “The investigation showed that the only true victim in this was the unborn baby,” Pleasant Grove police Lt. Danny Reid. “It was the mother of the child who initiated and continued the fight which resulted in the death of her own unborn baby.”
This police officer is more concerned about an unviable fetus than an actual, living, breathing, adult woman who got shot. Shooting people, as far as we know, is against the law. But according to this cop, whose literal job is to enforce laws and protect people, that’s not the point here.
