It was an easy solution to an Aldi problem that seemed almost too good to be true — and now the supermarket has warned against it.

Yesterday one shopper’s advice to use a key when you don’t have a gold coin as a trolley token was labelled the “best life hack ever”.“We recommend that our shoppers continue using gold coins or an ALDI trolley to unlock their trolleys. Other objects may become stuck or damaged,” a spokesperson told news.com.au.

The mum’s post soon attracted plenty of comments with people praising the solution as a “life saver”. “You can get a trolley key off eBay. You don’t have to leave it in the trolley while you shop either,” one wrote.
