CEBU CITY — It’s all systems go for “Sinulog 2020” as organizers are expecting a 10-15 percent increase in devotees and tourist arrival during the Sinulog week on January 9 to 19 this year.
“More devotees and tourists are expected to come for the Sinulog. Last year’s tourist arrivals for Sinulog was about 292,812 but we are expecting about 336,000 this year,” according to Avigael Ratcliffe, corporate communications officer of GMR MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation in an AGIO-PIA forum Tuesday.
GMCAC has augmented its staff/personnel to assist passengers’ influx and airport concessionaires are encouraged to prepare for the surge of travellers while passengers are advised to use web check-in to avoid delays and save time as well, Ratcliffe added. At the Basilica del Minore, Shiela Gumapon of the Basilica media center said that it closely coordinated with the Philippine National Police for the safety and security of the entrances and exits of the church.
