Amazon AMZN, +2.06% confirmed this week that its physical Dash buttons — the whimsical, internet-enabled press-to-order devices that let consumers restock household products with a mere push — would no longer be sold globally.

Alexa Shopping lets customers reorder home goods via voice command. And the Subscribe & Save feature allows shoppers to set up automatic, regularly scheduled deliveries of items. Currently, the Amazon Echo has the largest market share in the U.S. of any virtual assistant, with 10% of U.S. homes using one of these smart speakers. And that number is growing.
