An Anchor Point woman traveling as a passenger in a pickup died Tuesday in a head-on collision on the Sterling Highway, Alaska State Troopers said.

The collision also seriously injured the drivers of the truck and car involved in the collision, troopersCarol Spracklin, 57, was a passenger in a northbound Chevrolet truck that crossed the center line and struck a Saturn Sky sports car near Anchor Point around 5:25 p.m., troopers said. Spracklin died from her injuries and the truck’s driver was transported to an Anchorage hospital with serious injuries, troopers said. The driver of the Saturn was airlifted to a Soldotna hospital.
