The new agreement comes after a public procurement process in which SACA satisfied the mandatory requirements with the lowest cost to the city. The contract’s duration will be four years, with an option to extend it for two additional four-year terms. As of Jan. 1, 2024, SACA will operate the pound out of the same city-owned facility at 5028 Clarence Avenue South that is currently in use by the SPCA.
