“Each of these are in various stages of emergency use authorization and haven’t been vetted by the FDA because they haven’t had the time,” Dr. Alan Wu, professor of Laboratory Science at the University of California, San Francisco and the laboratory director at San Francisco General Hospital, tells PEOPLE.“It’s buyer beware for most of them,” says Wu.

“More studies need to be undertaken before we understand what having antibodies means,” adds Cangiarella.
