Public arrangements for Aurora Ald. Scheketa Hart-Burns, who died June 19, have been announced. The city of Aurora will hold a special procession where Hart-Burns’ casket will travel past Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place, at 2 p.m. Friday.

A wake will be held following the procession from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mt. Olive Church, 1039 Bonner Ave. in Aurora. Hart-Burns was the first African-American elected to the Aurora City Council, and has been the only council member from the 7th Ward since it was created in 1991.
