While Ash Williams killed a lot of Deadites throughout the original Evil Dead trilogy and Ash Vs Evil Dead, not all of his weapons were equally suited to this task. Bruce Campbell’s Evil Dead hero Ash Williams has an interesting history. In 1981’s surprisingly dark The Evil Dead, Ash was a relatively grounded, ordinary guy who was thrust into a nightmare when a possessed book turned his friends into murderous Deadites.
5 Ash’s Bare Hands - 2 Deadites Ash isn’t above fighting off Deadites one on one, although this rarely ends well for him. Throughout the original Evil Dead trilogy, Ash repeatedly tries to push, punch, kick, and shove Deadites to death and always comes up short, often earning himself nasty scars in the process. However, in the Army of Darkness finale, he finally succeeds in breaking the back of a Deadite.
However, Ash Vs Evil Dead leans into Ash’s famous weapon hard and makes up for lost time and blood when it comes to the chainsaw hand’s deadly efficacy. Ash uses the chainsaw hand to kill everyone from Deadite Vivian Johnson to Deadite Suzy Maxwell to Margie Meat Puppet to Evil Ash II during the series, and this is far from an exhaustive list.
