Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros hits an RBI single against the Toronto Blue Jays in the first inning during their MLB game at the Rogers Centre on June 5, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.Friday isn't likely to be ready to return when those 10 days are up, according to Dusty Baker.

"Not really sure, but probably not," the Astros manager said before Sunday's game against the Guardians."That’s a big man with some big muscles that he uses." Alvarez left Thursday's game in Toronto after his first at-bat. After the game, he said he felt something in his right oblique — the muscle on the sides of the abdomen — while taking swings in the batting cage during pregame. Even with missing some games, Alvarez still led the majors with 55 RBI entering Sunday's games. His 17 home runs rank third in the American League behind the Yankees' Aaron Judge and Angels' Shohei Ohtani.last week after feeling something in his oblique after an awkward swing.
