At D23 Disney finally reveals the shape of its post-John Lasseter era
Both Docter and Lee started their respective presentations by asserting their bonafides. Docter reminded the crowd that he had been at Pixar since the company’s beginning, and flashed a photo of his younger days at work on early Pixar projects. Lee, meanwhile, took to the stage with a pair of picture books she had as a kid and assured the audience Disney Animation was in good hands with this life-long Disney fan.
Still, Lee couldn’t have asked for a friendlier moment in the Disney timeline to make her big debut at D23. Lee rose to prominence at Disney thanks, in part, to her work co-directing the smash box office hit.
