A tourist boat in Hungary has sunk with 34 people on board, including the crew, a spokesman for the tour operator says
"Among 33 South Koreans, 7 have been rescued, a rescue operation for 19 missing is underway and 7 are confirmed dead," the statement from South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs read.A spokesman for the Hungarian National Ambulance Service confirmed that at least seven people are dead and"more than 13 are missing," according to CNN affiliate ATV.Spokesman Pal Gyorfi said 32 passengers and two crew members were on board, ATV reported.
The South Korean Embassy in Hungary sent an on-site response team to assess the situation and provide consular assistance, South Korea's Ministry said.The tourist boat -- the Mermaid -- was a ship from Panorama Deck's tourist fleet operating on the Danube, Panorama Deck spokesman Mihaly Toth told CNN. Rescue workers gather at the bank of the Danube River in downtown Budapest.There were"no signs of a possible issue with the boat," the spokesman said.
