AT&T's Warner Media to launch HBO Max officially on May 27AT&T Inc.'s WarnerMedia subsidiary said it's new HBO Max streaming platform will officially launch on May 27, with a slate of new original offerings. Among the Max Originals that will be available on day one of launch are "Love Life," a comedy starring Anna Kendrick; documentary "on the Record"; "Legendary," a ballroom dance competition series; "Craftopia," hosted by LaurDIY; and new "Looney Tunes Cartoons," from Warner Bros. Animation. The price of HBO Max is expected to be the same as the current price of HBO at about $15 a month, which is less than the prices for recently launched Disney+ service from Walt Disney Co. and Apple Inc.'s Apple TV Plus. AT&T's stock fell 1.2% in premarket trading, while Disney shares lost 1.5% and Apple's stock eased 0.4%. The declines come as futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 558 points, or 2.4%.
