Atascocita rolls past Clements in Region III-6A semifinal game

Atascocita, which has won 10 straight games, will take on No. 14 Shadow Creek in the regional championship at 2 p.m. Saturday back at the Berry Center. The Sharks beat Bellaire 73-42 on Friday. Clements saw its historic season end with the loss. The Rangers were the No. 3 seed out of District 20-6A this season but found some postseason magic with close victories over Tompkins, Cy-Fair and Mayde Creek.
Angel Johnson led Atascocita with 17 points, all of which came at the free-throw line. Connor Miller added 14 points, and A.J. Aungst had nine. Bryce Matthews scored a game-high 20 points for Clements, and Divine Oguchukwu finished with 14, despite fouling out early in the fourth quarter. Abdullah Olajuwon notched a double-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.
