Authorities release video showing officer fatally shoot man on trolley in San Ysidro [Breaking]
San Diego police released a video Tuesday showing an officer fatally shoot a man in a trolley car in San Ysidro earlier this month.
The department’s video begins by showing trolley security camera footage captured around 8:45 p.m. near the Palomar Street Station in Chula Vista. Just after 9 p.m., the trolley pulls into the San Ysidro station, text in the Police Department video reads. Sanchez Ramos is the only one left in the trolley car after the other passengers evacuated.
The Police Department video cuts to the body-worn camera footage captured by the unnamed officer — known in the video as “Officer No. 1” — who responded to the scene with Berton. Sanchez Ramos walks into the lit trolley doorway with his replica gun pointed at Berton, the unnamed officer’s camera footage shows.
