DHAKA – Bangladesh’s Supreme Court on July 21 scrapped most of the quotas on government jobs that have sparked“The Supreme Court has said the High Court verdict was illegal,” Attorney-General A.M. Amin Uddin said, referring to an earlier ruling that reintroduced the quotas.

Mr Uddin said 5 per cent of civil service jobs would remain reserved for children of independence war veterans and 2 per cent for other categories.
