The social enterprise announced its closure on Instagram on February 17, stating that its final day of operations is estimated to be sometime in April. In their heartfelt post, the owners expressed gratitude for the incredible journey, serving over 100 regular customers daily and witnessing the joy they brought to their little stall.

They highlighted their initial dream of recreating nostalgic fried chicken while keeping it affordable and delicious amidst rising costs. Despite the limitations of their small kitchen space, Big Dot Chicken strived to deliver the best fried chicken experience. They proudly mentioned being featured by customers, influential figures, and food guides, emphasizing their commitment to genuine customer satisfaction and their avoidance of sponsored marketing due to limited resources. However, the owners also candidly addressed the challenges they faced, acknowledging competitors who attempted to sabotage their success through fake reviews and reporting genuine five-star reviews as spam. With grace, they expressed forgiveness and acknowledged the competitive nature of the industry.Big Dot Chicken, established by three friends, opened in May of the previous year and aimed to provide employment opportunities for underserved communities.
