Longtime Blockbuster employee Dave Carrera still supports the last remaining store in Bend, Ore. from his home in Plano. The company’s entire point of sale system resides in Carrera’s home office. Ramos also has a passion for the brand. She grew up in San Antonio in the 1990s, when a trip to the neighborhood Blockbuster meant family time. It also meant the smell of plastic video cases, candy and popcorn — “sensory overload in a wonderful way,” she said.. “That’s kind of what Blockbuster is — for people.
