France, Germany, the UK, Australia, and China are among the countries grounding the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft within their airspace after Sunday's deadly crash in Ethiopia.
have ordered airlines to suspend operations using the popular Boeing model pending an investigation into the Ethiopia. However, the US has said that it does not have sufficient information to take the same action."We understand that regulatory agencies and customers have made decisions that they believe are most appropriate for their home markets," the company added.
The groundings came a day after the US said it did not have enough data to make a decision to ground flights using the model.Monday, the Federal Aviation Administration said it was aware of"external reports" of similarities between the Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air crashes. However, the agency said the investigation"has just begun and to date we have not been provided data to draw any conclusions or take any actions.
FlyersRights.org, an airline passengers organization, called on the FAA to ground the 737 Max 8 aircrafts in light of the Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air crashes.
