Border Patrol agents seize guns, ammunition dropped by men traveling through mountainous area [Breaking]
Border Patrol agents recovered four AR-15-style rifles and 17 loaded magazines last week after they came upon four heavily armed men “deep in the San Ysidro Mountains” believed to be illegally in the country, federal officials said.
“This type of dangerous activity must not be tolerated,” San Diego Chief Patrol Agent Aaron M. Heitke said in a statement. “When events like this occur, we think of our fallen Border Patrol Agents Bryan Terry, Robert Rosas, and others who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to this nation. The agents were patrolling in an area where “bandit activity” has occurred in the past, said Border Patrol Agent Angel Moreno. He said a dozen attacks on migrants were documented in the area in the past 12 months.
