While the poll is good news for Jenkins, there are some caveats.
on behalf of the recall campaign and overestimated the margin of victory, projecting that 68% of the city's voters would recall Boudin, when in reality, 55% did. Granted, that poll was conducted in March, so one could argue the race moved in Boudin's favor in the race's final months .
Furthermore, if the poll is overstating Jenkins' support, it could possibly be an issue for her given. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the contest goes into"Round 2" where the last-place candidate is eliminated, and voters who ranked that candidate as their first choice will have their second-choice votes counted. This process will continue until someone hits the 50% vote threshold.
