BRUNSWICK, Ohio ---- Benevolence can manifest itself in many ways. Some, like staff and clients of Totally Toned Personal Training, go so far as to pull a jumbo jet to raise money for a good cause.
This year’s event raised record-breaking $65,000 as 32 teams gathered at the airport Sept. 16 to take part in the tug-of-war battle with a Boeing 737. Plane Pull teams were divided into corporate, open and public safety divisions, with the Totally Toned team earning a sixth-place finish among 11 teams in the open division with its 6.85-second pull of the required 10 feet.
More importantly, he said, the team raised $1,500 for the cause. A Berea resident who grew up in Brunswick and is a member of the Rotary Club of Brunswick, Karban and his staff operate Totally Toned Personal Training out of several Northeast Ohio locations, including Miller’s Athletic Club in Euclid and the Seven Hills and Brunswick Recreation centers.
