Some companies are struggling to get workers to return.
: Many office jobs will return to normal but many companies will roll out or already have rolled out completely remote jobs. These jobs might include IT, sales and other jobs where an individual can operate autonomously with “Zoom style” support. While many workers would like to work remotely or on a hybrid basis, I believe that both office work and business travel will return to more than 80 percent of 2019 levels by 2023.But it depends on the individual and the job.
If the COVID lockdown lasted six weeks as originally predicted, things would have gone back to normal. Two years into a hybrid or work from home model, employees have reconfigured their lives, priorities, and demands around a remote work concept. Although employees might appreciate free doughnuts, doughnuts alone will not persuade workers to return to an office setting five days a week.The future workplace is likely to see employees spending at least part of their time working remotely.
