As other countries impose testing requirements to stop COVID-19 from ballooning beyond Chinese borders, PHAC says it will continue to closely 'monitor' the situation.

The spokesperson also said that the PHAC “continues to monitor and assess the global epidemiology of COVID-19 for the health and safety of Canadians.” Other countries have also imposed measures to prevent infections from spreading beyond China’s borders. Japan requires a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival for travellers from China, and Malaysia will be implementing tracking and surveillance measures. Taiwan, South Korea and India are also requiring COVID-19 tests for travellers departing from China.
