Fighting evil is far too easy for Captain Marvel.
While the first film outlined the backstory of the character, the story didn’t quite manage to establish her personality; throughout the film, Carol remains essentially unchanged. - how to humanize a character who is all-powerful, with an unshakable moral compass? Whilesaw Carol realize that she had been fighting on the wrong side for years, the character never faced an obstacle she couldn’t shatter with a single photon beam.
But there was no physical challenge to counter Carol’s abilities, nor did the character express difficulty in accepting her role as a war criminal; the moment she learned of her mistake, she quickly switched sides. Carol Danvers has already been established as one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU, a hero so incredibly important, that she doesn’t have enough time to protect Earth; she’s got the entire universe to worry about. But what if there’s something out there that she isn’t equipped to deal with?exposed the secret colonial history of Asgard, forcing Thor to seriously question his ancestry and ideals;could go down a similar path, tentatively explored by the first film.
