A car expert has warned drivers against pressing a certain button in their vehicle
A car enthusiast has issued a stark warning to motorists about a "dangerous" button in their vehicles that they should avoid pressing. The TikTok user, known as @carknowledge_, regularly shares useful tips and tricks for car owners.
However, he recently highlighted a specific button that he believes 99% of drivers ignore, despite its potential danger. He explained: "The button I'm talking about is this 'off' which is the vehicle body stabilisation system, also known as the vehicle anti-skid system," He warned that this feature is enabled by default and should not be deactivated, as doing so could cause the vehicle to slip or even roll in certain situations.
Experts at KBB agree, advising that while it's possible to turn off the safety feature, it's rarely necessary and should remain activated in conditions such as heavy rain, snow, or ice. . They also warned: "Traction control can be the difference between staying on the road and crashing your car due to skidding, including when the roads are wet or icy."
They recommend keeping it activated "most of the time", even when conditions appear safe, as a precautionary measure to give drivers peace of mind, reports the Mirror.
