According to reports, the CFP Board of Managers has decided to expand the College Football Playoff to 12 teams.
The CFP Board of Managers unanimously approved the expansion of the College Football Playoff from four to 12 teams on Friday.
ESPN's Pete Thamel was the first to break the news, claiming the Board of Managers had agreed that the College Football Playoff needed additional teams in the mix for a national championship each season. However, ESPN's Adam Rittenberg said sources with knowledge pertaining to the managers' meeting told him that the 2025 season would be a more likely option.
