After a lifetime spent as teammates, confidants, Allie and Nicole Anderson are ready to play at different Mountain West schools
Twins live in a world with a constant companion, most are never far from their sibling.
That’s what Allie and Nicole Anderson have done their whole lives, all the way up to playing soccer at Del Norte High School.Allie was a defender for the Nighthawks, who finished 8-7-3 overall after going 5-4-1 in Coastal North County League standings, while Nicole played forward. Del Norte’s season ended with a 1-0 loss to Westview in the first round of the San Diego Section Open Division playoffs.Allie, who is 5-foot-3 and 40 seconds older than Nicole, will play at New Mexico in the fall.
“I’ve been super independent my whole life,’’ Nicole Anderson said. “I’m ready for a change, and I’ll prepare for what’s coming when it happens.’’ “We’ve thought about this moment for a long time. My new college teammates think it’s hilarious that I will have to play against my twin sister from a rival team.Allie is undecided about a possible major, although she thinks she may focus on something in either math or science.
