One of the Philadelphia cheesesteak shops is coming to the Walmart Supercenter at 6520 Carlisle Pike in Silver Spring Township. Charleys specializes in cheesesteaks, loaded gourmet fries and all-natural lemonades. The first one opened in the mid-1980s at Ohio State University. Today, the chain has grown to more than 630 locations in 46 states and in 17 countries.
Partners Nehal Patel and Hemal Desai, both Mechanicsburg residents, said they couldn’t turn down an opportunity to bring a Charleys to their neighborhood. They also operate Charleys at Walmarts in West Manchester Township, York County and in Butler and Washington, outside of Pittsburgh.Other Charleys operate at the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township and Park City Mall in Lancaster County. Recently, the chain inked a deal to bring its food to hundreds of Walmarts nationwide.
Cheesesteaks include traditional Philly style as well as chicken, bacon and three cheese, chicken buffalo, chicken California and chicken teriyaki. Wings sell from six to 50 count with 10 sauces such as Buffalo, bold BBQ, Korean BBQ and Thai chili.Diners can order their food to go as well as through third-party delivery platforms or take a seat in the casual, family-friendly dining room. Hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m., daily.
