The 23-year-old wide receiver was arrested Monday in a Kansas City suburb and was expected to be released Tuesday evening with bail set at $2,500.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Justyn Ross pleaded not guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and property damage of less than $1,000.

Ross appeared for his arraignment in Johnson County District Court via Zoom. He is scheduled to be released Tuesday evening with bail set at $2,500. The 23-year-old’s next court hearing is set for Dec. 4.Ross was arrested Monday in the Kansas City suburb of Shawnee, Kan. He is accused of “physical contact with a person in a rude, insulting, or angry manner,” per the domestic battery charge .

The Chiefs signed Ross last year as an undrafted free agent. Later that summer, he was placed on injury reserve and missed his rookie season as he recovered from a foot injury. This year, Ross has appeared in all seven games, recording three catches for 34 yards. He was not targeted in Kansas City’s 31-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
