Christina Applegate, 50, Makes Moving First Public Appearance Since MS Diagnosis
“I wish I had paid attention,” she said. “But who was I to know?” She added that although her time off was helpful in processing it all, every day is still a struggle. “It’s not like I came on the other side of it, like, ‘Woohoo, I’m totally fine,’” she added. “Acceptance? No. I’m never going to accept this. I’m pissed.”
Still, Applegate was determined to get back to work—on her own terms. She was mid-filming season two ofwhen she was diagnosed. “And then it was about kind of learning—all of us learning—what I was going to be capable of doing,” she toldAdjustments were made while shooting the upcoming third and final season. Firstly, she used a wheelchair to get to set. The cast and crew aided her through blocking and long days of filming.
