The City of Kyle invites anyone with the first name and exact spelling of Kyle to participate in setting the largest Guinness World Record for same-name gathering.
KYLE, Texas —
The "Gathering of the Kyles" is an annual occasion, this year being the city’s fourth attempt at the record. Kyles all the way from Massachusetts have shown up in the past. Scheduled to take place at the Kyle Fair A Tex-Travaganza at Lake Kyle Park, the gathering will begin at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21.
Currently holding the world record for the largest same-name gathering is Kupreski Kosci in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which had a total of 2,325 participants named Ivan. They set the record on July 30, 2017. “In order to break this record, we’re calling for any and all Kyle’s [sic]. We need tall Kyle’s, short Kyle’s, young Kyle’s and old Kyle’s to get close to the record set five years ago” City of Kyle Special Events Manager Claudia Rocha said. “We’re very excited about the upcoming, inaugural Kyle Fair and have high hopes that this event will bring out the Kyles needed to grab a spot in the record books.
